Unique Lodging near Ithaca, New York

Tenwood Lodge is a six-bedroom home, made up of two distinct buildings and constructed using ten different species of locally available wood. Our main building (the Lodge) includes four beautifully appointed bedrooms. An attached 2 story wing has two additional bedrooms, also known as the Bunkhouse Family Suite.

Most of our guests rent the whole 6 Bedroom property, but when it is not fully booked, you can combine our accommodations to meet your specific needs. Enjoy the privacy of an individual room, choose a suite of rooms, rent the four-bedroom lodge, or rent both the lodge and the bunkhouse. 

When you rent a room or suite of rooms, we can provide you with a hot breakfast each morning.  When you rent Tenwood Lodge, you'll be able to enjoy using our fully-stocked foodie kitchen for your entire stay! Just bring your own food (or order catering or a private chef!) Here's a copy of our House Manual

Tenwood Lodge is located on over 100 acres of cropland and a wooded hillside used in part for Maple Syrup production by Russ, a retired Agriculture teacher. Our secluded valley is a few miles south of Ithaca, New York, hence our Ithaca mailing address. (Technically, we're part of the town of Danby, which is so small it has no US Post Office. ) We are just a short drive south of Ithaca Commons and Cayuga Lake in the Finger Lakes Region.

When, you stay with us, you're surrounded by one of the Finger Lake region's most unique valleys, and our lodge was designed to optimize your views of the area. And, while the lodge is perfectly removed from civilization, you're not alone: A variety of wildlife roams the property. Don't be surprised if they drop by to visit.

Tenwood Lodge is close to many of Ithaca's most popular attractions. Planning a visit to one of the nearby colleges or universities? We're just minutes from Cornell University and even closer to Ithaca College. Interested in exploring our part of the Finger Lakes region? Cayuga Lake is about ten miles north of us. And we're a short distance from the area's most popular parks and forests: Buttermilk Falls State Park, Robert Treman State Park, and the Danby State Forest are less than ten miles away. Don't forget downtown Ithaca, where you'll find an eclectic collection of specialty shops, galleries, restaurants, and bars.

Ithaca and the surrounding areas have plenty of excellent restaurants and bars for you to enjoy. Most are a short drive from Tenwood Lodge. For example, Mercato Bar and Grill, one of Ithaca's best Italian restaurants, is less than ten miles from us. And Simeon's American Bistro, a local favorite, is just as close.
