(our mailing address is Ithaca, but we are located 9 miles south of Ithaca Commons in the Town of Danby) Tenwood Lodge was designed for families to unplug from the crazy life and reconnect with each other. It's a new world and things have changed so much we are not going to summarize it all here. Suffice it to say, bring your mask everywhere, take it off to eat, drink. Wear it when you walk in public places around others. Wineries are doing tastings, flights of wine, wine by the glass or bottle and curbside pickup. Contact individual wineries for reservations and details. Catering Halls, Restaurants have decreased hours and seating capacity or are exclusively doing take-out, contact for details by phone or check websites. Some Indoor attractions are closed or online.
The Tenwood Lodge synopsis on travel in the era of Covid-19:
We are available for guests, but want to have a clear mutual understanding of expectations between us, therefore all our reservations through Labor Day will require extra communication via email and/or phone.
Tourist activities in Tompkins County are opening up at this point (July 14, 2020) but some restaurants, and other indoor attractions are closed. Many restaurants are are open and offering take-out, the grocery stores, big box stores and liquor stores are open with mask and social distancing restrictions. Most wineries have re-opened with strict guidelines for tasting, some restaurants and our favorite catering venues are offering wonderful items that you can pickup curbside take home or consume as personal picnics.
Americans have the personal freedom as well as personal responsibility to take protective measures for ourselves and the community by practicing social distancing as the reopening occurs.
During this statewide re-opening, using Tenwood Lodge as your family retreat or remote work environment, puts you in a lovely rural setting with plenty of fresh air and few humans for interaction. As always Ithaca's hiking and bicycling and the gorgeous Tenwood Lodge kitchen await you.

As of July 17, 2020, Tompkins County has conducted 20,324 tests and found 194 positive test results. That is an infection rate of less than 1 %. However, since July 4 there's been an uptick. 24 cases are active with no Covid-19 hospitalization currently. No local deaths were reported. Please wear masks and wash your hands!
